Did you know that Albert Barnes (The Barnes Museum & Foundation) spent part of his childhood in Fishtown?  So it is fitting that our students participate in the Barnes Foundation Art of Math competition.  Students are tasked with building a 3D scale model of a painting.  Using Math, Art and Engineering our students replicate the painting and provide a written statement describing the Math strategies used to make the model.   Utilizing the STREAM skills they are taught every day, working together as a team and being exposed to the works of some of the most famous artists to have ever lived our students take on the task with vigor.  We are proud of their accomplishments and awed by their creativity and strategic thinking!
